Broiled sweet potato and cassava

Alexandoy

Pathfinder
These root crops are nice to eat when you are in a campsite and had run out of food. Make a fire using firewood and place between big stones that will serve as the place to put the sweet potato or cassava. Watch for the texture. When it looks soft, it is ready to eat. If you want to be sure, use a stick to prick or stab the tuber and that's it. We have been doing that during my boy scout days when we camp near a farm. The adventurous spirit in us made us "steal" some tubers that we find there. But we only do it when the farmer is away.

...you didn't tell us about----->

...the starchy tuberous root of a tropical tree, used as food in tropical countries but requiring careful preparation to remove traces of cyanide from the flesh. :)
