Just got back from a few days of camping on Tellico lake. Picked up a buddy after he got off from work 11pm Wednesday night. We arrived at the lake where we put the boat in to go to our camping spot, 1:30 in the morning, where my brother waited. It was dark and calling for rain, but we were eager to get out and get started. The lights that I was supposed to display on the boat at night were pretty much inaccessible with all the gear we had piled in, and I didn't see any other idiots, like us, on the water at that time of night so I didn't bother with it. We got our loaded boat up on plane and skipped across the lake to our known spot. The sky was heavily overcast, but we had no trouble finding our destination in the dark.

Aha! Pictures are back.

That was weather radar on Wednesday afternoon. So we arrived at camp about 2:30 am Thursday, and setup in the dark. It started raining in the morning after we got up, and it rained the rest of the day. The spring rains and warmer weather was helping everything to green up and start blooming. That morning my brother utilized my camp table that I made last year and cooked bacon and eggs. We did chicken on the grill with rice for dinner. I'm very glad I brought the 10 x 10 canopy because it gave us a place to escape the rain, and cook.

Friday brought us clear skies and a more cheerful attitude. The Osprey had chicks in in their nesrs, and didn't like us getting to close. The fishing improved later in the afternoon. Then it was a good fire and enjoyable company.

Your pictures made me long for the good old days when my friends and I went camping by the side of the dam. It was one of the most wonderful camping trip that I had because it was real wilderness where we saw monkeys on the trees and different species of big birds. However, we were not prepared for fishing because the main intention was swimming in the clean water of the dam. It would have been great if we had caught even one big fish as a complement for our meals. But anyway, camping is really fun and age doesn't matter which means I can still go camping as long as my feet cooperate in walking long distances.
