Margarette Falls, Cherokee National Park.

Since it cooled off a little yesterday, we took a short hike to Margarette Falls. It was maybe 1.5 miles to the falls from the parking lot. It was plenty rocky and rooted and followed a small stream most of the way. The first 1/2 mile looked to be an old road bed, so it was a pleasant stroll for that stretch at least till the foot bridge. Then it got a little rougher. There were plenty of nice pools to take a dip in if you wanted.

Little bit picture heavy, so here is after the bridge. Sorry if some of the pictures sideways, you can cock your head like I do. After the foot bridge the trail got a little more rugged. The real stoney areas was where cliffs further up gave way. The first picture, if you look up near the top, you can see the stone sticking up in the air. Little hard to see through the trees.
