Not a camping day, but a great morning with my nephew on the river. A little river fun before he has to return to his air base. It was a nice cool morning with a chance of rain as we put in. There are plenty of calm areas where you don't have to worry about broadsiding anything. I enjoy gliding over and looking at the different types of structures on the river bottom. Smoothly sailing over dirt bottoms scattered with mussel shells, areas of small yellow and brown gravel that have been rolled, polished and pushed to create natural points and shallow bars, and the larger boulders that have the soil washed away rom around them leaving places where submerged logs get trapped creating current breaks for fish and other creatures to take refuge. The shoals at the end of the calm areas created by rock ledges that have resisted to be moved by the waters powerful forces, also create great resting place for nature's aquatic animals. We were blessed with some nice fishing. All fish released unharmed, we'll maybe with a few lip piercings. The end of a great morning.

I am hoping to take a 2 day trip down this river in a couple of weeks. Did one last year with my nephew and it was a blast.
