What kind of dog is this???

I didn't know that. :) There's Moose Stuff everywhere! I'm going to look that one up.

What kind of dog is this???

It's genuine purebred rare"Moose Dog". And it doesn't have six legs - so there has to be an offspring on the other side. :bear: Baden Bear here. "Did you know we have a town called, Moose Jaw, in Saskatchewan Canada?"

    Back In The Day

...but we are a rich society by and large. We have money for just about any and everything we want. For me, like you, it is a question of balance. Just how much is enough? We teach and have taught that the individual is primary and the pursuit of happiness is the goal. But you are right...

    Hmm maybe I do this?

-----> Not at all - whistle cords are simply whistles attached to a cord of some sort. Lanyard is probably the better word to use. The difference is that they can be disconnected without being pulled over the head. The two connectors shown in the picture can easily be pulled apart in an emergency.

    Hmm maybe I do this?

It's like everything else - we come up with our own jargon that becomes fixed after awhile. What is sometimes frustrating to me is when I'm with an individual who doesn't know the terms. You are telling your partner to "take the chute, take the chute" and he doesn't know what you are saying...

    Hmm maybe I do this?

That's a new one for me too - and it's a great idea. I do have wheels for the canoe to cart it to the van - usually filled with gear. :)

    Hmm maybe I do this?

...a strainer or sweeper is a canoe term for a downed tree in the river. The apparent danger is the you only see a portion of the downed tree and not the hidden portion. That is why whistle cords and life jackets have snap off buckles. If you should collide with a strainer, fall down...

    Back In The Day

...it just shows to go yah that we have spare bucks and there are a whole lot of people out there waiting to pluck them out of your hand. Like Barnum Bailey said, "There is a sucker born every minute." But then again to be able to say I slept on the steps of the tash ma hall must say...

    Have you seen Foxfire?

I've only seen Foxfire once in my life. We were on an overnight camp with senior boys back in my Camp Norval days. I've never seen it since. Any one else? Foxfire, also sometimes called "fairy fire", is the bioluminescence created by some species of fungi present in decaying wood. The...

    Skunk Remedy

Both Blazer and Reese have been sprayed or is there another word that describes a yelping dog that just had his dignity lowered considerably be a lessor creature? I don't have time to waste because as you know everything they brush up against paints the material with that repugnant ordour...

...a dog waiting. Reese use to do that. He seemed to know what time it was and sit patiently knowing that I would arrive soon. When it comes to the camping scene I'm suspicious of technology, but then again, it sure can be useful.

-----> I'm always looking and looking and looking... I got my set at Cosco for a whole lot cheaper than Goal Zero was selling them for. Sometimes you just get lucky. :)

    Back In The Day

On Lake Louisa ...you bet it does. It has all the romance of a palace in the wilderness. I've been there - but not the hotel - just couldn't afford it at the time. So...I bunked in a Youth Hostel instead. It wasn't bad either. Few hotels in the world rival the majesty, hospitality...

-----> With my battery slowly dying I've been looking at these too. I'll probably buy it on a whim some afternoon when I get one of those "buy camping equipment" attacks that I sometimes get. :) THOUGH, honestly speaking -as this is a big ticket item I would wait for the sales and certainly...

-----> This is the one that I'm currently using for my needs. Though note - this type of battery is no longer made by the company. I use this system principally for lighting and watching DVD's. Though it could be used for other applications I limit myself to the two mentioned. Charging has never...

    Hello all

-----> You sound a bit like me Dude. Let's see -> do you have ten tents? It must be a fetish I have or some other weird peculiarity. I have three Alaknaks, two T-pees, one Outback Lodge and four tripping tents and assortment of tarps, and...well, you get the picture.
