    Advertising with Romance and Seduction

okay...I'm back. Ya - I hear ya. Did I ever mention that I belong to BSCDA? (Big Spending Camper Dude Anonymous.) Yep. Every new fan dangled piece of anything wets my outdoor appetite. The MSR and the Jet Boil have a good reputation. I just have trouble with the high cost of some of this...

    Time to go!

...I must admit I get a bit annoyed with rain and as a result don't always take evasive action. I know I should and even though I have the proper clothing I don't always do it. BUT - I do have a sports umbrella for base camp and use it frequently. I have a trip umbrella for pack and paddle...

We have a gentle snow fall blanketing the trees and making things picturesque. But come Monday - it's the Spring Equinox.

    Leftover dinner

...we don't usually have food left over either; we eat everything up. Canoe Camping If there are scraps they are burned to a crisp, containers are packed out, and the site is left clean and tidy. If it is a question about burying garbage, we don't do that, we pack it out. We don't leave...

    New From Arizona

=====> That makes sense. I took the liberty looking up Arizona and some how the terrain looked a bit different. Looking forward to seeing your pics. Off to bed - work in the morning.

Do you have to worry about wild bears where you live?

...the romance of the bears. At one time seeing a bear up close was remote but as humans develop the wilderness we see them more often. I'll always remember the first time I saw a bear carcass lying on the side of the road. I felt deeply sorry and troubled. ...and then there...

    New From Arizona

=====> ..how do you expect me to get my covered wagon through that? Beautiful scene and apparently an interesting a beautiful state too; a lot more green than I expected. Welcome again!

    12 month challenge

...well, I think the word is try. I was rather hoping the challenge could be days out rather than each month; I sure have a lot of days reserved. I begin on May 23 starting with twenty one days. Maybe I could get an honourable mention. And I'm still debating whether I should purchase a hammock...

Scary camping sites in your region.

=====> :) So...you are from the Philippines. Interesting. Your country is beautiful and no doubt has many interesting places and sites to see. Camping there would be so much different to the kind of camping we have here in Canada.

Do you have to worry about wild bears where you live?

...the famous grizzly is only in some parts of the country but not all. Like anything else you know your terrain and the risks you take. You train and act accordingly. Black Bears are the most common in my neck of the woods. I'm always leery of the names that humans attach to animals...

DIY for people who can't DIY.

Good advice. This is the model and brand that I was looking at - The Safari Jungle Zip combines all the best features of the Deep Jungle XL and the Safari Deluxe Zip. This new design is deeper, wider and more comfortable for taller, larger people or even for cozy couples whose combined...

DIY for people who can't DIY.

...fantastic stuff @Bibsoutdoors I like your style. I often find myself saying, "I can do that!" Then sometimes I can and other times I can't - but the fun is in the trying. And there are those rare occasions you come up with smart idea that wins the applause of colleagues. I'm still toying...

Do you find any inappropriately dressed people while camping?

You might want to try winter camping, if you haven't already. So you can say you have done it. I frequently put two regular sleeping bags together with an insert. Trying to control the temperature inside a sleeping bag can be tricky. The insert increases the temp of the bag and yet at the...

Boston Snowshoers Presumed Dead After Lake Louise Avalanche

...I remembered when Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau's son Michael was killed in an avalanche. It was sad - he too decided to ignore the signs and skied in an area that was noted for it's danger. Then again, there will be people canoeing in early May and not bother to put on a life jacket or...

Do you find any inappropriately dressed people while camping?

it's all in the style - what you are accustomed to, how you have been trained, and comfort level. I too winter camp in tents designed for four seasons without the stove - though my sleeping bag is designed for semi arctic conditions. :)

    Bamboo for cooking

...and then there is ===== > I put a trivet at the base of my Dutch oven and cover it with a sheet of tinfoil to prevent burning. I have a glass see through lid to watch the natural goodness taking place. I pour just a tad of Manischewitz mazel tov to enrich the flavour. Good wine during the...

Do you find any inappropriately dressed people while camping?

It all depends at what level you are in terms of your experience. Denim has been mentioned several times. The reality is it's never recommended for serious camping. Denim doesn't keep your warm, takes ages to dry if it becomes wet, attracts mosquitoes and other flesh biting insects and other...

    Bamboo for cooking

...aw yes - delicious in every way. You can do chicken, salmon, pork chops and so on. Always easy and soooooo good. Like others I put my salmon on one of those bake boards - another easy preparation. Then there is the swinging chicken....okay okay that's enough!
