    "GUTSY" HIKING, FISHING AND CAMPING

It's all gutsy and cool till you find yourself in a bad situation. I also don't want to be camping, hiking, fishing or just out enjoying nature, and walk up on a dead person.

    "GUTSY" HIKING, FISHING AND CAMPING

That looks like a blast! I'll be honest tho, after 4 or 5 days I'd probably wimp out and want my creature comforts of home. It is something pleasing to dream about.

    Morning drift fishing

Grabbed a couple of hours of sleep after work yesterday morning, got up to sun shine and headed for the river. The banks were a little steep to get into the canoe safely, so I searched the near by feeder creek. I found this one spot where I slid the canoe under the fence to the water. It was a...

    Dutch Oven Pork Chops...

Great sounding meal. Simple to. Maybe need to start a "Camping Babble Cook Book".

    Mew Lake Base Camp Prep

Great list. Very thorough. I can't say whether you are leaving anything out or not. Maybe need larger csnoe? 14 days sounds great. I do have 1 question, it's still a little cool up that way so why the summer tent? Wouldn't the winter tent be more comfortable?

    Buy any equipment recently?

Buying camping stuff is an addiction. You do understand that, right?

    Canoe seat upgrade

I'm done with this canoe for awhile. The gunwale trim was a chore on its own. I rubbed a second coat of danish oil on it. The first picture was taken in 2014 after I replaced the plastic decks. Of course the most recent with the wood gunwales.

    Buy any equipment recently?

Good looking chair. I do struggle a little getting out of my Helinox chair. It sits a little low, or maybe I'm just to fat.

    Canoe seat upgrade

I did some research, which I should've done before I started. Black ash is weaker than white ash. Oh well thanks for looking. Oh this ain't over either.

    Canoe seat upgrade

Oooh this really sucks. I put my canoe in the floor so I could sit in it and check for correct thwart placement. The left rung support broke when I sat down. I think there was to much give with the side of the canoe, maybe due to no thwart support, that the front support gave way, and this...

    Buy any equipment recently?

So, mr. I've gots it all, what kind of tripping chair ya looking for? I've got one of the small helinox chairs. It does pack small and sits fairly well, but the feet will sink in soft soil. So whats you looking at?

Canoe ain't only thing on my mind.

Getting my privy set-up. I just got the privy tent, and I think it was a good deal. Packs small and easy to put up, and plenty of room. Now all I need to do is nail down a time in April. My wife asked me "how much camping stuff do you need?" I replied "all of it".

Ever since I did last up grade I can't post pictures like I used to. Go figure.

    Canoe seat upgrade

Got the top piece glued and nailed on. I had to work it on slowly so I didn't break it, but it held up great and bowed with the curve. Little bit of glue squishing out, but I wanted to make sure I had enough on it. The squished out glue is a pain to clean off to. I did use a router and a dremmel...

    FLOOD...

That's horrible! It's upper 70's here in Tennessee mostly rain. We don't have to worry about snow melt. The creeks and rivers here get a little high and swift, but luckily there has been no loss of life, that I am aware of.

    Kayak options

I would go for a sit on top. My nephew fished out of a sit in kayak and here's the problems he has. There is very limited room for anything large like a cooler. If you have a fishing pole, you have to shove it in the cockpit hole with yourself and watch out for the hooks. Most times your going...

    Canoe seat upgrade

After a week of warmer, but rainy weather I was able to get my gunwales bolted on, and the excess of bolts sticking out ground off. I have yet to fit a piece over the top of gunwale strips, but now I've realized I don't have enough wood to attach my thwart to. So I figured I would cut, and bolt...

    Canoe seat upgrade

Maybe leave seat and thwart out of it? I've got to finish it up and quit goofing off.
