We go to the fitness center here every other day, and I love swimming there. I am still surprised how many people just can't swim, even in the swimming pool, which is much easier than trying to swim in a lake where the bottom drops off, or in a fast-moving current in the river.
We have those thngs called "pool noodles", and people use those to float, and even ride on them and paddle around the swimming pool. Other people use one of the special floater belts and they swim using that.
The fitness center does give swimming lessons; but it seems like most of these people who can't swim do not even want to try and learn.
I learned to swim when i was just a little kid, and when I was raising my kids, we always went to the nearest lake or river to swim in the summer; so they all learned to be good swimmers, also.
