Yeah if you have young ones, a camp site with bathrooms and people around in case you need help are definitely nice to have. Nevertheless it is a good intro to camping if you want to graduate to going for hikes and canoe trips as they get older.

You should consider investing in one of the electric ones, they work much MUCH better than the regular fly swatters I have found. You don't need to wait for them to land, which is important

Well, if you have a car parked nearby you could always lock valuables in there. I have not had any problems with theft at camp sites in the past however I would still recommend trying to avoid bringing valuables in the first place. Jewellery, watches, lots of cash, aren't too useful on a camp...
