I did a intoxicating 6+ hour hike/climbing to reach the middle of one of the mountains (to reach the top, it would take another 6 hours. I was dead tired and by the time I got up it would be nightfall).

That mountain is all rock, and its called the "half dome"

By the way, what kind of camera did you use to capture these shots?

Unless you were using a large zoom lens, it looks like you got very close to that fawn...

I used a normal Samsung point and shoot digital camera, I was indeed very close the to fawn (maybe 15 meters?). At one point I was so close to it that i thought it would hunt me down.

All that hiking had to made you tired and hungry. What food did you bring with you to make the hike less bearable? I like the pic after the one with the half dome pic. That pic just has a view of the parking lot and a pool. Were there any other animals that you ran into besides the dear during your hike?
