    Ridiculous or Not?

Yes I get gear junkie. You were the one that mentioned it on here long time ago. I guess I skipped that item, ha now I know why. 2 trips coming up eh, something to look forward to. Do you use the same food list, or do you try something lots different every so often? I enjoy the trips when I...

Bon Echo - Joe Perry Lakes

Yes we do have rivers. Been planning a 3 day trip for October, but waiting on friend to find out if he's going. Promised my wife I wouldn't go alone camping out in middle of no where. Lots of industry and farm land run off in these rivers, but thanks to better conservation efforts and awareness...

Bon Echo - Joe Perry Lakes

Looks like there are lots of lakes up that way. Was that the first canoe in you've done? I wish we had natural lakes here.

    CAMP WENDAKE always a pleasure...

The rugs make it look a lot more homey. I was wondering if the nights were getting cooler up there. I trust every one slept warm. It's only been as low as upper 50s F around here at night so far, and that was a couple of nights ago.

    CAMP WENDAKE always a pleasure...

Looks like Tom Frog is saying "Oh my, we found Elvis!" I was going to ask what the CW on top of your fire logs was, but I figured that out. Nice marshmallow roaster! Yeh sure looked like you was roughing it. Was Spiderman and Captain America bunking with you? Or did they have their own posh...

    Everyone must be Camping

Back in the early 70s we went to one of the lakes, and I could see people standing up in the water, they were maybe 1/2 mile out? Of course I was kid, and things looked different then. But I do remember walking way out, and it wasn't getting much deeper as I walked. I got scared and turned...

    A Moody Lake Huron

Whoa! It's hard to grasp that a lake is huge enough for its own tide and swells. Was there a storm blowing in across the lake from the west? I've been to Makinac Island once. Beautiful pictures.

    Cumberland Gap State Park

Took a hike yesterday where the hwy used to cut through a mountain. We have driven through this gap in the mountain several times traveling between Michigan and Tennessee. Now there is a tunnel that cuts through the mountain. This is also part of the Daniel Boone wilderness trail, and a...

Wow that's great! I love all the water falls. 14,115 feet, I don't think I have ever been that high. Looked cool up there. I hope you all had a great time, and I sure like the pictures.

    Canoe seat upgrade

Thank you bulldoginajeepwithacolt, yeh I really do need to learn to use a router. I seriously thought about just cutting groove with knife and wood chisel. Maybe I start again in couple weeks, and do better. I love it! Thanks Dancer.

    Canoe seat upgrade

Finished my router work not a perfect job, but I could clean it nicely. Thought I would set it up and sit on it to make sure it was sturdy..... ooh @$€^/ naw that's OK. Not going to get upset. I didn't anticipate the knot being a weak spot. I'm learning. I'll start over and do a better job.

Another trip logged: Kennisis Lake Dam

That sounds like a blast. I remember very well when I was a teenager, wow that was 30 some years ago, and going with the youth group to a state park for 5 days. We had cabins to stay in, of course we had to evict the critters and fight off the creepy crawly things, but it was great. We had to...

    Canoe seat upgrade

Got the frame ready, but I'm stuck. it's 13 x 18 inches, yeh I got big behind. I want to do a plastic cane weave mat but I'm to intimidated with routering the groove around. The slight bow in the seat frame makes it a little difficult, and I am not very good with a router. Unh
