There is a survival training organization that I know of here in the the states. It is called Outward Bound. It's supposed to be a Non-profit educational organization. There is one near me in Asheville NC, maybe 2 hrs drive from my house. Their in office is in Colorado. I realy don't know much...

Would you buy a kayak, canoe or a boat?

I am partial to canoes. I have nothing against kayaks. I think canoes make better hats. . And when your not wearing them, you can load them down with camping gear.

Would you go camping on a "haunted" forest?

So if you don't pay your exorcist, would that mean you could get, repossessed?

    Eyes swelling since last trip

The Claritan has citrozenhydrocloride, and the allegra has lortadine. The Claritan doesn't work for me, but everyone is different. I would get small pack and try it. If one doesn't work then try the other brand. If after 4 days you don't get relief, then maybe time to seek out ole doc. I think...

    Eyes swelling since last trip

I don't want to mislead you in any way, or give advice. I never had a problem with allergies until I thought I had a cold that wouldn't go away. My wife suggested it was allergies. I didn't believe it. I went down to the local drug store, and purchased the off brand of allergy stuff, allegra...

    Eyes swelling since last trip

Sounds like an allergic reaction to something. Could be from the mold, and your body is still fighting it. I never had any problems with allergies till I was in my early 40,s. I know this past summer has been rough on my allergies. I wish you well. I realy have no idea.

Natural Tunnel State Park, Duffield Va

. My wife and I took a little drive last Saturday on the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail. It runs from Bristol VA to Cumberland Gap Kentucky. There sure was some beautiful scenery . There were some hiking trails, but due to the heat and I sort of screwed my back up, she wouldn't let me do any...

Do you take your camera along camping?

The first digital camera I had was 2008. It had a postage stamp size screen, and couldn't even see what I was taking a picture of. We took it on a hike in the smokey mtns that year. The pictures looked great on a computer. Now I use my smart phone, and I take lots of pictures, and then sort...

    Leeches On Your Trail

I remember when I was 9 we lived in norther Michigan 35 miles south of the upper peninsula. We were playing in a local river called the Black River, and it was black, it looked like someone poured ink in it. Must've been the soil color that made it look that way. Great trout stream and yes...

    Leeches On Your Trail

Ewww I have the creeps now. Wow they can get in your nose and eyes? They'd think they was in deep jungle if they got in my nose. I have not seen a leach in these parts.

How would you avoid theft while being around a populated campsite?

Oh yes on a lighter side. I have had my camp raided by raccoons while I soundly slept. I was camped on an island, so I never suspected a thing. Those little bandits sure made a mess.

How would you avoid theft while being around a populated campsite?

That's awful! I don't like to have to guard my things when I camp. I had to leave my vehicle a couple of nights at a very secluded boat launch, so I made sure there was nothing of value in it and left the drivers side door unlocked. I figured it been better if someone opened the door, looked...

18 Awesome Camping Ideas You Never Thought of

I have the Sven saw, and I must say that it has performed very well. I like how it packs into the red tube that serves as the handle. Most dead fall I gather is around 7 inches (180mm) diameter and smaller. The Sven saw rips through it very effectively. From 1 to 5, I would rate it at 4.7 the...

Do You Use a Swiss Army Knife?

For a 300 plus dollar knife, I think I would hang it on the wall. I'd be to scared I would loose it, or like I have fishing lures and stuff, accidentally drop it over the side of the boat.

    Tight or loose clothes

I wear shorts if the temperature and terrain allow. If I wear pants then they are loose fitting. I almost always wear cotton. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Do You Use a Swiss Army Knife?

Ahaa! It does exist! the ultimate Swiss Multi Tool. I guess the Swiss got bored with their intricate, and very well made, time pieces, and thought they would realy dazzle the world. This thing comes with an altimeter, barometer, clock "of course", and even a thermometer. On sale 380.00 US. Yep...
